Sally Spedding was born near Porthcawl in South Wales. Her family’s turbulent European background and her own experiences and observations of places and people continue to influence her crime and thriller writing. She is particularly interested in themes of duplicity and betrayal, and also how human beings don’t change, but gradually reveal themselves.
She is currently working on a crime series set in France’s Sarthe department.
As an active member of the CWA, Mystery People and Crime Cymru, she loves meeting her readers at crime fiction events and book fairs. She’s also an award-winning poet, assesses manuscripts for the CWA, and adjudicates national and international competitions.
She’s married to the painter Jeffrey Spedding and although they live in Carmarthenshire, they spend part of each year in the atmospheric eastern Pyrenees – where timeslips occur.
